Alistair's work is an exploration of shape and proportion, in dialogue with the material. Abstract design is an expression of a quest for freedom.

This quest goes hand in hand with a meditative practice, which aims to approach the work of a space without judgement or fear of judgement. A search for sincerity that consists in emptying himself as much as possible of all mental pollution, obstacle to the creative process. So he works more instinctively, allowing the pieces to be born 'through' him.

The resulting works become a reflection of an inner process, testifying to a path towards something, rather than a goal in itself.
